In a new video, Ziggzagg CEO Stijn Paridaens discusses how its partners contribute to the success of the Belgian-based industrial additive manufacturing service provider.
Ziggzagg provides personalized, 3D-printed parts primarily for customers in the medical and defense industries. To do this at scale, Ziggzagg has created a streamlined system to manage order intake and production, post-processing, and quality control.
"For us, digital manufacturing really means digital, and it all starts with the file from the customer," says Ziggzagg CEO Stijn Paridaens.
The company, which boasts one of the largest print farms in Europe with 10 HP multi-jet fusion machines, has successfully transformed 3D printing into serial production, printing more than 200,000 parts per year for its customers. To manage all its part orders and production jobs, Ziggzagg turns to additive manufacturing software.
"It comes through our platform, we use 3YOURMIND, and that's actually the heart of our company," says Paridaens. "Every process is digitized into [3YOURMIND] and is fully traceable."
In addition to 3YOURMIND, Ziggzagg works closely with partners BASF Forward AM as one of its material suppliers. Ziggzagg utilizes BASF Forward AM's Ultrasint TPU material, a flexible thermoplastic polyurethane powder compatible with its HP machines. Once the part has been produced, Ziggzagg leverages AM-Flow's shop floor operations equipment to automate part sorting and packaging.
"For me, the future of 3D printing lies in the applications," says Paridaens. "Our mission in the upcoming years is to create those applications together with our customers to make personalization mainstream in 3D printing."
