Get AM Material Suggestions for Conventional Parts
Want to produce a conventional part using additive manufacturing but aren't sure what material to use?
Now, 3YOURMIND offers AM-compatible material recommendations based on conventional material properties.
Producing spare parts on demand is becoming a “new normal.” We see our customers realizing new applications every day, week, and month. Still, finding the right AM technology, material, and printer requires expert knowledge and time—two valuable resources that companies are often stretched thin on!
3YOURMIND software changes this for the better. Our newest release lets users see relevant AM materials, technologies, and vendors with one click.

AM Material Recommendations Based on Conventional Material Properties
Imagine you want to print a bracket like the one pictured below. The original part was produced with stainless steel, mainly using CNC machining.
With only this information, customers can use 3YOURMIND to receive AM material recommendations that match conventional materials.
Pictured: Just by knowing what material your conventional part is made of, 3YOURMIND can suggest AM-compatible materials.
How does it work?
The 3YOURMIND software extracts the major material properties from its database of conventional materials and automatically compares them with the equivalent AM options. The software displays the matching AM technologies, materials, and vendors.
In addition, the software makes assessments that consider different AM processes, which can influence material strength (e.g., laser powder bed fusion vs. binder jetting). The user can still compare options (already available in 3YOURMIND’s 24.6 release) and select the best material based on the part’s purpose.
3YOURMIND's Advanced Material Comparison considers conventional material requirements.
